Care for balloons
Our balloons are lovingly made-to-order with technical precision and an eye for creative detail. They’re air-filled and can last for weeks with the proper care. From collection, balloons are the responsibility of the customer.
We’d love your balloons to brighten your space for as long as possible.
So here are our top tips to care for your balloons:
- Arrive with an empty boot to collect your balloons
- Handle balloons gently
- Supervise young children near balloons
- Store balloons inside in temperate conditions (not too hot or too cold)
- Keep balloons away from sharp edges and radiators
Disposal of balloons
Sidcup Balloon Saloon strongly supports the safe disposal of balloons to protect our environment.
Disposing of balloon decorations
- Dismantle carefully to separate materials
- Remove all non-balloon items (tape, wire, weights)
- Sort by material type and recycle where possible
- Consider saving reusable components
Disposing of latex balloons
- Pop to deflate and be careful to pick up all small pieces
- Remove any ribbons, ties, or plastic clips
- Place in regular bin (they aren't recyclable, unfortunately)
- Never release them outdoors as they harm wildlife
- For large quantities, compress to reduce volume
Disposing of foil balloons
- Completely deflate and flatten
- Check if your recycling branch will accept clean foil balloons
- If not, place in regular bin
- Keep away from power lines as they can cause outages
